In June 2025, Helsinki Airport made history with a one-of-a-kind wellness experience: a fully functional Finnish Sauna by Lapelland placed just meters from active runways. Created in collaboration with Finavia, the “Runway Sauna” brought a bold idea to life – to show how close the world truly is to Finnish happiness.

Guests, including international influencers and journalists, stepped into the Lapelland Sauna S and enjoyed authentic löyly while watching planes take off around them. More than just a stunning setting, the event demonstrated the power of Lapelland’s design: handcrafted Finnish Sauna sauna with a mobile, built-in foundation, which requires no construction or groundwork. Only thing needed was to put the built-in support legs down and enjoy!

Crafted in Northern Finland in Lapelland`s indoor factory, the sauna reflected true Finnish craftsmanship, innovative design, and the essence of Finnish wellbeing. From backyards to airports, Lapelland Saunas are designed to be the most effortless and they can be placed wherever people seek warmth, presence, and connection.

The airport setting truly emphasized the mobility and uniqueness of Lapelland – a sauna that can even travel where you do.
